Adele (Miller) Powell

Effingham: Adele Miller Powell, 77, wife of the late Vesper "Dick" Powell, Jr., died at her residence, after an illness.Mrs. Powell was born October 25, 1941 in Florence County, daughter of the late Stiver Miller and Emma Goins Miller. She attended Gospel Temple Worship Center.

Surviving are her son, Stiver (Mia) Powell of Effingham; grandsons, Austin Powell, Jacob Lee, and Jeremy Lee; great-grand daughter, Sophie Lee; siblings, Shirley Miller of Effingham and Jennifer (Grier) Ellis of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law, Arbie "Wink" (Carol) Powell of Effingham, sister-in-law, Virginia (Bill) Blanchard of Effingham and Cory Stewart of Manning, whom she loved like a son.

Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by a sister, Caroline Miller.

Funeral service will be 4:00 PM, Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Turner Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM, Sunday, August 18, 2019, at Carolina Funeral Home.
