Alford "Bodie" Clyde Britt, Jr.

Alford Clyde "Bodie" Britt, Jr., 74, died Sunday, February 10, 2019, at McLeod CICU followed by a brave two year fight with lung cancer, surrounded by family.  

Bodie was born on January 30, 1945 in Lake City, son of the late Alford C. Britt, Sr. and Mary Edith Daniels Britt.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Sonic Drive-In where he was loved by many.  He enjoyed wood working, making people laugh, spending time with his grands and lounging with his dogs.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Ann Smith Britt of Lake City: son, Michael (Linda) Smith of Belton and Jason (Jennifer) Britt of Lake City; daughter, Jessica (David) Britt of Lake City; grandchildren, Alyssa Britt, Kailyn Britt, Houston Beard, Britton Beard and Hartley Britt, all of Lake City; his four legged friend, Prince; brother, Danny (Glenda) Britt of Elizabeth City, NC; sisters, Mary Pearl Lee and Sandra Britt Dennis, both of Lake City.

He was preceded in death by four siblings.

Memorial services will be 7:00 PM, Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Saturday, February 16, 2019 prior to the services at the funeral home.
