Bertha (Gosnell) Owens

Bertha Gosnell Owens, 76, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Carolinas Hospital in Florence.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, February 2, 2018, at Unity Original Free Will Baptist Church, Johnsonville,  with burial  to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the church.

Mrs. Owens was born on August 19, 1941 in Tryon, NC, daughter of the late Lewis Ernest Gosnell and Ruby Lee Pack Gosnell.   She was an honorary member of Unity Original Free Will Baptist.  Mrs. Owens loved to bake and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and church family.

Surviving are her son, Joey Owens of Johnsonville; daughters, Rene Varnadore of Turbeville, Gail (Randal) Belflower of Effingham and Dale (Wayne) Barefoot of Pamplico; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Gosnell and a sister, Betty Gosnell.
