Betty (Rhodus) Shuler

Mrs. Betty Rhodus Shuler, 72, died Sunday afternoon, January 28, 2018 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence after an illness.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Paxville Baptist Church in Manning.  The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the services at the church.

Betty was born on July 31, 1945 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Thomas Judson Rhodus and Emily DuBose Rhodus.  She was a graduate of Manning High School and was a member of the Paxville Baptist Church.  Before retiring, she was a Certified Nursing Assistant with Dr. Thomas Marion Davis and with Palmetto Women’s Health Care of Manning.  In 2007 Betty and her husband moved to Florence to be closer to their family and began attending College Park Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ralph W. Shuler; daughter, Catherine Shuler Denny and her husband, Brian;  and grandsons, Connor and Coleman Denny all of Florence. Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Lottie Adell Parker and brother, Donald Rhodus.
