Denny Cooke

Douglas Denny Cooke, 72, of Lake City, husband of Annette Hicks Cooke, died Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston.

Graveside funeral services, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Lake City Memorial Park.

Denny was born October 9, 1945 in Florence County, the son of the late Dud Cooke and Lucille Epps Cooke. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and the University of Tennessee and was a member of the Lake City First Baptist Church. Denny was an entrepreneur and business leader in the Lake City area for many years. He owned and operated a number of businesses including Carolina Labor Services.

Surviving include his wife, Annette Hicks Cooke of the home; daughter, Lachelle Cooke Taylor and her husband Danny of Hilton Head; grandchildren, Mallie, Grace, Tibbs, Charlee, Addie and Trey.

Denny was preceded in death by two daughters, Denise Cooke Trew and Tonya Cooke Bergelt; and a sister, Karen Cooke.
