Edna Rogers Cartwright

Mrs. Edna Rogers Cartwright, 91, wife of the late Walter Edward Cartwright, died Sunday, November 17, 2019, at NHC-Bluffton, SC, after an illness.

Mrs. Cartwright was born on August 27, 1928 in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late James Lenwood Rogers and Ideulia Dennis Rogers. She was a member of Cades Baptist Church, WMU and retired from Wentworth Manufacturing Company. She loved her church and all of her church family.  Mrs. Cartwright always had a warm, gracious smile and spoke to everyone she came in contact with.  Her passion was clothing and fashion, she appreciated a well put together outfit.  She was a very strong, determined woman.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Jeri Dee (Daniel) Anthony of Hilton Head Island, SC, Evan (Jan) Daniels of Bluffton, SC, Kim (Mike) Hugenberger of Orange Park, FL and Joey Myers of Jacksonville, FL; five great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Cartwright was preceded in death by her daughters, Linda E. Myers and Marian Ideulia "Dee Dee" Evans; and a brother, Raymond Rogers.

The family would like to extend a special "Thanks" to Reverend Don Witherspoon. He was the vessel that the Lord used to bring her to Christ. He and his wife, Vicki, looked after her when she lived alone and had no family nearby.  Reverend Witherspoon has also been there for her grandchildren and we will be forever be grateful for him. 

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, November 22, 2019, at Lake City Memorial Park, Lake City, SC.

The family will receive friends 12:30 – 1:30 PM, Friday, November 22, 2019 at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton, SC.
