Edward Dwight Carraway, Jr., 63, went to his heavenly home, Saturday, June 22, 2019.
Dwight was born on February 2, 1956 in Hemingway, SC, son of the late Edward Dwight Carraway, Sr. and Rebekah Altman Carraway Richburg. He was a 1974 graduate of Johnsonville High School and a graduate of Francis Marion University. Dwight was a resident of Johnsonville from early childhood till the early 1980's, Dwight holds the record of South Carolina's youngest person ever elected to public office in June of 1976.
He leaves behind his loving companion of 30 years, Micheal "Chuck" McCall; siblings, Matt Carraway of Surfside, Dan Carraway and Reborah Moy, both of Florence, Tina Richburg Millard of Athens, AL, George Richburg of Manning, Carolyn Williams of California and Lee Richburg of Manning; aunts, Hannah (Al) Erwin of Florence and Drue (the late, Thomas) McCrea of Kingstree; two nephews, three nieces; one great nephew and one million cousins. He also leaves behind Chad Stargle, beloved friend and continual caregiver of his four legged children, Barney, L. B., Jake and Binkie.
Dwight was preceded in death by eleven uncles and one aunt.
Graveside services will be 5:00 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Harmon Cemetery, Hemingway.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
