Frank "Hank" Jent Obituary

Frank Darin "Hank" Jent, 52, husband of Patricia Clemmons Jent, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence SC.

Frank was born on July 26, 1966, in Letcher County, Kentucky, son of the late John and Rosetta Watkins Jent.  He was a graduate of Flemings High School in Neon, Kentucky, then relocated to South Carolina where he worked at Piggly Wiggly, Weatherford Aluminum. Rental Uniform and NanYa Plastics. Frank was a member of Dean Baptist Church in Whitesburg, Kentucky and attended Unity Christian Fellowship Church in Timmonsville.  Best way to describe Frank was selfless and always thinking of what others people needed or wanted and ready to jump in to help.  He was a devoted family man with a big heart and generous spirit who loved taking care of people.  He also liked to "entertain" and make people laugh with his "original" jokes.  He always enjoyed a good sporting event with lots of yelling, especially the Kentucky Wildcats, Miami Dolphins and his ALL-IN Clemson Tigers.  His hobbies included watching car and cooking shows and his almost everyday drives through the local car lots.

Frank was a wonderful husband and father and survived by his wife of 24 years and the love of his life for 32 years, Patricia C. Jent, and son, Spencer Jent, of the home; sisters, Sondra (Paul) Rose of Neon, KY, Mary Ruth (Randy) Simmons of Pikeville,  KY, Debbie Eastridge of Whitesburg, KY, and Joyce Sergent-Ward of Effingham, SC; brothers John (Michelle) Jent of Hartsville, SC, and Mark (Rebecca) Jent of Whitesburg, KY; father-in-law, William (Diane) Clemmons of Effingham, SC; sister-in-law Karen his soul sister (Mickey) Toney of Scranton and brother -in-law Boyd Clemmons of Coward, SC; and so many relatives, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.

Frank was preceded in death by a sister, Noreen Jent-Combs; three brother-in-laws,  James William Clemmons Jr., Jim "Curly" Eastridge, and Richard Sergent, a nephew, Travis Patrick Lewis; his mother-in-law, Katherine L. Clemmons and a very special cousin and friend, Brenda Lynch.

The family is extending a heartfelt thank you to Dr. James Smith, Maureen Byrd and Linda at McLeod Oncology and Oncology Front Desk and Lab ladies and all of the Oncology incredible staff, McLeod outpatient pharmacy, McLeod Cancer/Radiation Center, McLeod Main Tower 7th floor and McLeod Hospice Home Care, Cheryl, Michael, and Glen and McLeod Hospice House, Mary Ruth, Charlie, Kimberly, Peggy and their staff.  And the support of Unity Christian Fellowship Church members and his family and friends who were always there to help. Thank you so much for taking care of Frank since April 27, 2015 with love,  cheerfulness,  kindness and respect. Frank was grateful for all support and loving prayers.  This was not a road traveled alone, thank you.
