Harry Allen Wise, 84, of Coward, died on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at McLeod Hospice House after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Wise was born on December 9, 1934, in the Leo Community of Florence County. He was the son of the late Joseph Lonnie Wise and Pearlie Mae Yarborough Wise. Mr. Wise was retired from GE as a licensed wastewater operator. He was a member of Stone Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Pamplico. Mr. Wise was a devoted husband, father brother and grandfather.
Mr. Wise is survived by his daughters, Janice (Dr. John) Gause of Florence and Linda (David) Doughty of Coward; grandchildren, John Maxie (Anna) Gause of Seneca, Katherine Elizabeth Gause of Chicago, IL, Anna Gause of New York, NY, Laura Ann Doughty of Coward and CPL David Michael (Hannah) Doughty of Jacksonville, NC; Surviving also are brothers, Allen Wise of Florence and Willie (Landa) Wise of Pamplico; sisters, Blondell Turner of Lexington, NC, Mary (Edd) Poston of Pamplico, Wilma Caraway of Coward and Nellie Gaskins of Lake City; brother-in-law, Joe (Betty) Benton of Conway; sister-in-law, Joyce (Raymond) Lamb of Lake City; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wise was preceded in death by his first wife, Earline Elizabeth "Dolly" Wells Wise and his second wife Shirley Ann Benton Wise; and his brothers, Ervin Wise, Alex Wise and Oral Wise.

Thanks to all of you for your kindness and caring for Mr. Wise during his illness.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Friday, October 4, 2019, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Friday, October 4, 2019, at the funeral home.
