Leverne Altman, 93, husband of Betty Smith Altman, died Monday, August 27, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church, Coward. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in the church cemetery, directed by Carolina Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Thursday, prior to the services at the church.
Mr. Altman was born on April 24, 1925 in Coward, son of the late Johnny Altman and Annie Prosser Altman. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the European Theatre during World War II. Mr. Altman was a member of Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church and retired from the textile apparel industry.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Altman of Coward; children, Jerry (Sue) Altman and Diane (Randy) Kinley, both of Mebane, NC, Jimmy (Debra) Altman of Graham, NC, Judy (David) Foxworth of Andrews, Janet (DJ) Cordell of Florence, Greg Altman of Conway and John (Michelle) Altman of Coward; twenty one grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Altman was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Lynch and a brother and sister.
The family would like to thank Teri Culick for being such a wonderful caregiver, also, the nurses from Amedisys Hospice for doing a great job.
