Martha Dale Daniel Catchings, 64, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 23, 2018.
She and her husband, Douglas S. Catchings lived in their marital home at 612 N. Bethel Road, Scranton, SC. Mrs. Catchings was born February 18, 1954, in the Lake City community and was the daughter of the late Davis Daniel, Sr. and Omega Lee Daniel. She graduated from J. Paul Truluck High School in 1971. She was employed as a dental assistant with Dr. Jim Richardson until 1994. She was a member of the Lake City Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a devoted worker with the Heart to Hand Ministry at her church. She loved children and her flowers. She was a Master Gardner and owner of the Double D Day Lily Farm.
Mrs. Catchings is preceded in death by her father, Davis R. Daniel, Sr.; her mother Omega Lee Daniel and a daughter, Kimberly Shea Cockfield.
Mrs. Catchings is survived by her husband, Douglas S. Catchings of Scranton; her four children, Stephen (Kelly) Catchings of Montgomery, Alabama, Laura (Scott) Lawrence of Pensacola, Florida, Kim Cockfield of Florence, and Lynwood Cockfield of Lake City; six grandchildren, Mallory Lawrence and Lindsey Lawrence of Pensacola, Florida, Jack Catchings and Luke Catchings of Montgomery, Alabama, Taylor Cockfield of Marion, Illinois, and Sydney Cockfield of Florence; sister, Lynn (Stan) Woerth of Summerville; brother, Davis (Cindy) Daniel of Scranton; along with many nieces and nephews.
Her celebration service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McLeod Hospice of Florence, South Carolina, P. O. Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502-0552.
