May Zell Rodgers Gaskin, 91, wife of the late Minto Ray Gaskin, died Thursday, November 8, 2018, after an illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 10, 2018, prior to the services, and other times at the home of Mac and Teresa Gaskin, 813 Fox Hill Road, Pamplico.
Mrs. Gaskin was born on November 11, 1926 in Lake City, daughter of the late Clifton Eulon Rodgers and Ida May Rodgers. She was a graduate of Indiantown High School and was retired from Florence County School District 3. Mrs. Gaskin was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was active in the WMU, Adult Sunday School, Current Mission Group and Young at Heart Senior Group. She was strong in her faith and loved her family and friends dearly.
Surviving are her children, Michael (Dale) Gaskin of Surfside, Roseanne (Bryant) Fersner of Kershaw and Mac (Teresa) Gaskin of Pamplico; five grandchildren, Kel-Z, (Rick) Prock, Gin (Patrick) Amodio, Elizabeth Anne (Bryan) Robinson, Brandon (Ashley) Gaskin; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Casselman of Columbia and Katie Rose Kirby of Florence; and one special nephew, Minto McDaniel of Columbia.
Mrs. Gaskin was preceded in death by her grandsons, Josh Gaskin and William Bryant Fersner; brothers, C. E. Rodgers, Linwood Rodgers and John Benson Rodgers; and a sister, Elizabeth Altman.
