Mildred Harper Obituary

Mildred Altman Harper, 72, wife of the late Joseph "Joe" Wright Harper, died Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Lake City Community Hospital.

Mrs. Harper was born on February 13, 1947 in Florence County, daughter of the late Dennis Altman and Leola Matthews Altman. She was a homemaker and loved her family.

Surviving are her children, Robbie Harper of Florence, Tammy (Stanley) Shady of Coward and Kent (Shannon) Harper of Scranton; grandchildren, Joseph Wright Harper, III, Mary Elizabeth Schilling, Dustin Shady, Dawson Harper, Brittany Stone, Destiny Hicks and Brooklen Hicks; great-grandchildren, Katie, Ethan, Emerson, Daisy, Riley, Landon and Zaylon; sister, Gertie Langston; brothers, Carrol (Dot) Altman and Kenneth Altman; and half-sister, Jo.

Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Wright "Joey" Harper, Jr.; and brothers, Woodrow Altman and Donald Altman.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Matthews Cemetery, Coward.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
