Ray Poston

Wendell Ray Poston, 69, husband of Mattie Ann Windham Poston, died Sunday, February 3, 2019 in Asheville, NC.

Mr. Poston was born on February 21, 1949 in Florence County, son of the late Zannie Poston and Eva Mae Cagle Poston.  He was a faithful member of Mill Branch Free Will Baptist Church and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Ray was a lifelong farmer and owner of the family farm and enjoyed traveling and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Mattie Ann Poston of Johnsonville; children, Bartley (Shirley) Poston, Lacinda Poston (Chad) Burrows and Ramie (Miranda) Poston; grandchildren, Zannie Ray Poston, Trenton Burrows, Conner Poston, Colton Burrows, Chandler Poston, Caroline Poston and Cambrie Poston; siblings, Clayton (Joanne) Poston, Bonnie Jones, Gail Poston (Tracy) Jones and Terry Van (Cynthia) Poston; many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Mill Branch Free Will Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
