Mrs. Eaddy was born on September 24, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska, daughter of the late Lee Louis Fogle and Gladys Sagert Fogle. Shirley married James in 1956, and soon after their marriage moved to South Carolina. For many years she worked as a bookkeeper at Wellman, Inc. in Johnsonville, SC and later in the family produce business. Shirley was an active member in her church and served as the church’s Secretary/Treasurer. She loved books and was an avid reader. Her many hobbies included sewing, quilting, painting, baking, and crocheting. Closest to Shirley’s heart were her children, grandchildren and her church family. Her love and kindness will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her daughter, Tracy E. Thompson of Myrtle Beach; son, Lee E. Eaddy of Charleston; grandchildren, Barron Thompson, Bryce Eaddy, James Eaddy, and Elise Eaddy; sisters-in-law Katie (Ben) Morrow of Gastonia, NC, and Betty Jo Eaddy of Lake City; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Eaddy also had a wonderful extended family, whom she dearly loved: Luvenia McFadden (a special caregiver), Amanda McFadden, Ann McFadden, Mi’Precious Myers, Myasia Farrell, and other members of Luvenia’s family. These family members enriched Mrs. Eaddy’s life by providing much care, love, joy, and laughter. Their time and attention will always be remembered and appreciated.
