Viola (McAllister) Hopkins

Lyra Viola McAllister Hopkins, 90, wife of the late Ernest B. Hopkins, Sr., died Monday, February 26, 2018, at Lake City Community Hospital.

Mrs. Hopkins was born on October 6, 1927 in Florence County, daughter of the late Hoyt McAllister and Willa Cameron McAllister.  She was a member of Cameron United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

Surviving are her son, Stephen W. (Patti) Hopkins of Lake City; grandchildren, Louie (Lee) Hopkins of Florence, Lyra Lee Hopkins Dotson of Lake City, Kathryn (Shawn) Harrell of Johnsonville and E. B. Hopkins of Coward; seven great grandchildren and a brother, Donald (Stephanie) Stone of Florence.

Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by a son, Ernest B. Hopkins, Jr.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park, Lake City.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Carolina Funeral Home and other times at the home of Stephen and Patti Hopkins, 334 Lancelot Way, Lake City.
