Allen Norwood

Mr. Allen Norwood, 62, of Scranton, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, at MUSC Medical Center of Charleston.

Mr. Norwood was born on December 5, 1960, in Florence County, son of the late Harold Norwood and Martha Jean Cantey Stone. He attended Lee’s Tabernacle and spent many years as a log truck driver. Mr. Norwood loved fishing and especially enjoyed taking his grandson fishing in Georgetown.

Surviving are his children, Shiloh Norwood of Scranton, Chyvon (Fred) Kouatli of Denton, TX, A.J. (Peyton) Nowood of Florence and Alexis Norwood of Scranton; grandchildren, Michael Payne Weaver of Scranton, Asher Lee Norwood of Florence, Trulynn Norwood of Scranton, Braxton Norwood of Scranton and Riverlynn Norwood of Scranton; nephew, Lee (Melinda) Norwood of Scranton; niece, Tracey Norwood; great nephews, Lee Norwood, Jr and Tray Norwood; great niece, Cassidy Norwood; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Norwood was preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy Norwood and Tony Norwood.

A Celebration of Life will be 5:00 PM, Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
