Althea (Lee) Coker

Althea Lee Coker, 92, of Lake City, widow of Marion Davis Coker, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at The Florence Place.

Mrs. Coker was born on November 27, 1930, in Florence County, daughter of the late Murray Lee and Myrtle Young Lee. She graduated from Scranton High School and Saunders Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, retiring after 40 years of nursing. Mrs. Coker was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church. She lived a full life as a loving wife, devoted mother and gentle grandmother, with an infectious sense of humor.

Surviving are her son, Don E. (Jeanne) Coker of Lake City; daughters, Theresa C. (Mickey) Seabrook of Mt. Pleasant and Camala C. (Bobby) Osborne of Scranton; grandchildren, Davie (Jessica) Coker of Lake City, Rebecca (Steven) Witherspoon Summerville, Sam Seabrook of Charlotte, NC, Murray Seabrook of Columbus, OH, Zachary (Vikki) Newell of Tonopah, NV and Whitney (Dane) Keefe of Scranton; eleven great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.

Mrs. Coker was preceded in death by her brothers, Talbert Lee, Hillard Lee, Addleton Lee, Marvin “Mack” Lee, Barry Milton Lee, Delano “Buddy” Lee and Reginald Lee.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Grace Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be private.  

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Grace Free Will Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
