Alva L. Jordan, 90, husband of Gladys McIntosh Jordan, died Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Victory Veterans House in Walterboro, South Carolina.
Mr. Jordan was born on September 7, 1930 in Florence County, South Carolina, son of the late Aaron Taylor Jordan and Leah Belle Floyd Jordan. He was a member of Lake City First Baptist Church and a member of the VFW. Mr. Jordan retired from both the United States Navy in 1967 after 20 years of service and John L. McMillan Federal Building. Also, he was active in the service in the Korean War, Vietnam, and Cuba Crisis. He defined life as serving the Lord and our country.
Surviving are his children, Wanda Jordan Seymore of Johnsonville, Linda Jordan Fenters (Harold) of Patrick and Paula Jordan Smith of Scranton; grandchildren, Kim Funderburk (Jack) of Greeleyville, Stacie Stone (Jamie) of Johnsonville, Russell Fenters (Chanda) of Harstville, Amanda Gantt (John) and Ashley Fenters (Jennifer) both of Cheraw, Justin Smith (Lynette) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Kyle Smith of Sumter, and Hunter Smith of Scranton; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Joe Jordan.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Victory Veterans House in Walterboro, South Carolina.
Graveside services will be 5:00 PM, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Lake City Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Lake City First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
