Mr. Alvin Jones, 84, of Pamplico, Bazen’s Crossroads, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence.
Mr. Jones was born on October 14, 1940, in Florence County, son of the late William Joseph “Joe” Jones and Lucille Keefe Jones. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and faithfully attended Beulah FWB Church at Bazen’s Crossroads. Mr. Jones spent his working years at J.P. Stevens (Delta Mills) textile plant in Pamplico. He was a quiet yet humble man and was loved by many.
Surviving are his stepson, Roger (Myra) Bazen; siblings, Joel (Mary) Jones of Santee, Janice Elvis of Florence, Ruth Ann Langley of Lake City and Lou Nell Merritt of Moncks Corner; grandson, Justin (Christian) Bazen; great grandchildren, Evelyn Bazen, Alvin Bazen; step daughter in law, Deborah Bazen; special niece, Kaleigh Marie Poston of Pamplico; special nephew, Kevin Benjamin (Shonda) Poston of Hemingway.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty B. Jones and a stepson, Ricky Bazen.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Monday, October 28, 2024, at Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, Pamplico.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, October 28, 2024, at Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, Pamplico, with burial to follow at the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Palms and Southland Healthcare Center, as well as McLeod Hospital for their care for Alvin.
