Mrs. Anease Sims Beard Wilkes, 83, gently passed into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Prism Health of Sumter. Born July 1, 1941, in Williamsburg County to the late Richard and Nellie Floyd Sims, Anease lived a life marked by faith, love, and quiet strength.
Mrs. Wilkes was a devoted member of New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church, where her presence was a steady source of grace and devotion. Her deep love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life — from the hymns she played on the piano to the way she nurtured the flowers in her yard, always with care and joy. She found beauty in the simple things and shared that beauty with everyone around her.
Surviving are her sons, James (Lisa) Beard, Lorne William (Tammy) Beard, both of Olanta and Linwood Richard (Crystal) Beard of Florence; grandchildren Chasidy B. (Scott) Reardon, Cody Beard and Kelley Lynn (Grayson) Thigpen; great grandchildren, Abbygail, Wynston, James & Destiny; sister, Rose Nell Ridgle; brother, Kenny Sims.
Mrs. Wilkes was preceded in death by her first husband, James William “Billy” Beard; second husband, Tom Wilkes; grandson, James E. “Boo” Beard, Jr.; brother, David “Dickey Boy” Sims and sister, Dollie Ridgeway.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 27, 2025, New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.
Burial will follow at Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
