Ms. Annie Faye Mixon age 92, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at McLeod Hospice House.
Ms. Mixon was born on August 26, 1931, in Florence County. She was the daughter of the late Troy C. Lee and Grethel Floyd Lee.
She worked for 25 years at Wentworth Manufacturing in Lake City. She also worked at General Electric, Belk and Hamrick’s in Florence. She was a great cook and loved doing things for her family. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Louetta Strickland Sunday School Class. She enjoyed singing and was a faithful choir member. She was a loving mother and Nana who will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Marvin Donald Mixon, Jr, one grandson, Charles Bradley Thigpen, and a brother, Charles Russell Lee.
Surviving are three daughters; Anne T. Campbell of Pennsylvania, Donna Coker (Tim) of Darlington and Dana Myers of Florence, SC; seven grandchildren, Donald Lee Thigpen, Whitney Thigpen (Milena) Anthony Thigpen, Christopher Coker, Ashton Coker, Lindsey Myers and Emily Myers; three great grandchildren, Andrew Thigpen, Catherine Thigpen and Aubri Lewis; a sister, Susan Cole of Bishopville, SC; nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Mrs. Donnie Weaver.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton, SC.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church in Olanta, with burial to follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Reverend Tim Coker and Reverend Terry Dennis will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bethel Baptist Church, 1520 N. Jones Road, Olanta, SC 29114 or to Central Baptist Church, 512 Spring Street, Darlington, SC 29532.
The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks the staff of McLeod Hospice and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care and concern of Ms. Mixon and her family during this time.
