Arthur "Art" Franklin Walden

Arthur “Art” Franklin Walden, 78, husband of Billie Coleman Walden, died Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, Charleston.

Art was born on December 4, 1943, in Monroe, NC, son of the late Solon Walden and Kathleen Mangum Walden. He was a veteran of the United States Army, member of Jacksonboro Baptist Church and a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 39 years, Billie Coleman Walden; his children, Rick and Michelle; step-son, Michael David Whaley; grandchild, Summer (Paul) Huddleston; great grandchildren, Macy Barnum and Kallie Barnum; sisters, Lillian Broome, Peggy Walden, Lisa (Jerry) Castle and Dawn (Stacy) Starnes; number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Walden was preceded in death by a step-son, Lloyd C. Whaley; siblings, Joe Walden, Mary Alice Walden and Deborah Walden.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Florence.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home.
