Austin Derrick Matthews, 16, of Kingstree, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024.
Austin was born on July 4, 2007, in Florence County, son of Derrick Matthews and Anita Wilkes Feagin. He was a rising senior at Williamsburg Academy and was employed with Jimmie's Tree Service. Austin was an avid hunter, kind hearted and was a home body. Austin and his brother, Landon, were as close as two kids could be.
Surviving are his mother, Anita Wilkes (Jimmie) Feagin of Kingstree; father, Derrick (Kristy) Matthews of Scranton; sister, Summer (Zac) Barrett of Olanta; brother, Landon Matthews of Kingstree; maternal grandfather, Zollie Wilkes of Olanta; paternal grandmother, Sandy Matthews of Scranton; nephew, Zollie Barrett of Olanta; and special cousin, Caleb Parker of Scranton.
Austin was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Dianne Coleman and paternal grandfather, Larry Matthews.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at Hicks Hill Cemetery, Scranton.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, Scranton.
