Austin Bayle McKnight

Austin Bayle McKnight, 26, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, from injuries sustained in an accident.

Austin was born on April 24, 1997, in Florence, SC, son of Robert DeWayne McKnight and Susan Bailey McKnight.  He was a member of Friendfield Pentecostal Holiness Church and graduated from Hannah-Pamplico High School. Austin was an avid Gamecock fan, loved to ride dirt roads, long range shooting, hunting and fishing. He loved to cook and was known for his chicken perlo.

Surviving are his parents, Robbie and Susan McKnight of Effingham; grandfathers, Jim “PaPa Jim” Lamb of Scranton and O’Neal (Avis) McKnight of Florence; uncle, Ricky (Melinda) McKnight of Florence; cousin, Curtis DuBose of Florence and special friend, Cassie Stewart of Florence.

Austin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Sue Bailey; and paternal grandmother, Nell Lamb.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Friendfield Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Carolina Funeral Home.
