Badger R. Bazen

Mr. Badger R. Bazen, 86, of Johnsonville, husband of the late Helen Miles Bazen, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Bazen was born on September 8, 1938, in Florence County, son of the late Roy Bazen and Mintie Dorrell Bazen. He was a member of Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, a 1956 graduate of Johnsonville High School and a Veteran of the United States Army and lifelong Shriner.  Mr. Bazen married the love of his life, Helen Miles Bazen, on December 17, 1960. Badger was a savvy businessman, becoming the founder/owner of Badger R. Bazen Company, CEO/owner of Lull Industries, was in partnership with Arrowhead Industries and owner/operator of Bazen Farms. He had many inventions that created multiple patents.

He was a giving, caring, and joyous man. He had such an extraordinary impact on his community and everyone around him. He truly built a legacy that will forever live on.  

Surviving are his children, Glenn B. (Wendy) Bazen of Pamplico and Jeff R. (Stephanie) Bazen of Johnsonville; grandchildren, Jessica K. (Aubrey) McFaddin of Lake City, Andrew J. (Kerri) Bazen of Germany, Shaina E. (Harrison) Hawkins of Florence, Reed Bazen and Ross Bazen (Halianne Holland), both of Pamplico; great grandchildren, Easton McFaddin, Maddox McFaddin and Callen Roy McFaddin, all of Lake City; siblings, Vida Mae (Bill) Humphries, Gerald (Janice) Bazen, Mitchell (Judy) Bazen and Homer (Jessine) Bazen.

Mr. Bazen was preceded in death by his siblings, Merrill Bazen and Rentha Ann Bazen.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Friday, October 25, 2024, at Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, 235 West Bazen Road, Pamplico, SC 29583. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, to follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Hwy 378 Bypass, Scranton, SC 29591.
