Mrs. Barbara A. Miles, 90, of Scranton, wife of the late Delter Eugene Miles, Sr, went home on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Mrs. Miles was born on December 8, 1934, in Jesup, Georgia, daughter of the late Bennie Miles and Roberta Mayers Miles. She was a longtime faithful member of Lee’s Tabernacle Holiness Church and member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many. A devoted wife of 74 years, she exemplified unwavering love and companionship. As a loving mother of five children and a daughter in love, she nurtured their growth with warmth and guidance. Beyond her immediate family, she was a cherished grandmother, showering her grandchildren with affection and creating lasting memories. A beloved sister, aunt, and friend, she was known for her kindness, generosity, and the unwavering support she offered to those around her.
Surviving are her daughters, Trenda M. McKenzie (special friend Mike Floyd) and Sandy (Tommy) Rauch; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and two on the way; sons-in-law, Roy Parnell and Swain Cole and special family friend, Theresa Sanderford; sister, Roberta Altman; many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Miles rejoined her husband Delter Eugene Miles, Sr.; children, Eugene Miles, Sam Miles, Ella Ann “Sissy” Miles Parnell and Jackie Miles Cole; siblings, Eula M. Flowers, Dell Oliver, Eunice M. Timmons, Ruby M. Vause, Hubert Miles, J.B. Miles, Bruce Miles, Victor Miles and William Miles.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Agape Hospice for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time, especially Janice Dickson and Bruce McLeod.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Coward.
