Barbara Coward Kirby Myers, 76, wife of Maxey M. Myers, died peacefully at her home, Friday, May 1, 2020, surrounded by her family.
Barbara, Babby to her grandchildren, was born on July 11, 1943 in Florence County, daughter of the late Montague B. Coward and Eulea Mae Miles Coward. She was a graduate of J. C. Lynch High School and a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Barbara was retired from T. S. Ragsdale of Lake City. She loved the Lord with all her heart and felt it was her mission to spread that love to everyone she met. She was a prayer warrior who inspired others to grow in their own relationship with the Lord. She overcame many hardships and losses in her life with eternal faith and endless hope.
Surviving are her husband, Maxey M. Myers of Lake City; children, Tory (Paul) Sojourner of Lexington and Kyle Kirby of Coward; grandchildren, Hunter Sojourner and Will Sojourner, both of Lexington and Bradley Kirby-Brisley of Summerville; step children, Patty (Wesley) Howard, Alice Hayes and Maxey Myers, Jr., all of Clarksville, TN; sisters, Judy C. Gause of Coward and Joyce C. Welch of Florence; brother, Allen "Punk" (Bonnie) Coward of Coward; brothers-in-law, Larue (Shelby) Kirby and Gerald (Faye) Kirby of Lake City; sisters-in-law, Elaine (Joe) Richardson of Lake City and Beverly M. Kirby of Lexington; .
Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald William Kirby and her daughter, Rhonda Rae Kirby.
Private graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 3, 2020, at Olanta Baptist Church Cemetery, Olanta.
