Benjamin Frank Tomlinson, 86, husband of Jerry Floyd Tomlinson, died Thursday, July 8, 2021, at MUSC Health Center of Florence.
Mr. Tomlinson was born on February 19, 1935, in Olanta, son of the late Rev. “H.B” Henry Benjamin Tomlinson and Elsie Kelly Tomlinson. He attended The Citadel and Presbyterian College and served in the United States Navy. Frank worked over 30 years in the Textile Industry and retired after 20 years from LabCorp. Mr. Tomlinson was a lifelong member of Olanta Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer, huge Gamecock Fan, loved being with his family and adored his twin brother.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Jerry Tomlinson are his son, Benjamin Frank (Susan) Tomlinson Jr. of Bluffton; daughter, Fran Tomlinson (Gene) Prosser of Olanta; brother, James H. Tomlinson of Olanta; grandchildren, Benji Floyd of Olanta, Brian (Hannah) Tomlinson of Charleston, Joshua (Allegra) Tomlinson of Richmond, VA; great grandchildren, Asher, Eleanor and Jordan; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Tomlinson was preceded in death by a sister, Nida Jane Tomlinson; son, Richard Patrick “Ricky” Tomlinson; grandsons, B.J. Tomlinson and Andrew David Tomlinson; granddaughters, Renee Nichole Tomlinson and Nikki Tomlinson.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the funeral home, prior to the service.
