Betty Ruth Bryant Floyd, 71, wife of the late James Allen Floyd, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Floyd was born on February 24, 1954, in Florence County, daughter of the late Pearly Bryant and Polly Gladys Culick Bryant. She was a certified CNA on the 8th Medical Floor at McLeod for 23 years and attended Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother and was affectionally called “Betty Boop” by her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Al (Susie) Floyd and Megan (Dale Parkhurst) Floyd; grandchildren, Maggie Parkhurst and Ally Floyd; brother, Kenny (Iris C.) Bryant; sisters, Helen Bryant Ganes and Thelma Bryant (Larue) McKenzie; special friend and neighbor, Betty Lou Evans.
Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her brothers, PK Bryant, Keith Bryant and Jack Bryant; father and mother-in-law, Robbie Lee and Bell Floyd.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice of Sumter, especially Robin Hancock, for their love and care during this time.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
