Boyd Conner, 89, husband of Nell Elmore Conner took his heavenly flight on November 5th at the McLeod Hospice House surrounded by his family and loved ones. Mr. Boyd was born in Effingham, South Carolina, a son of the late Jessie and Lottie Meggs Conner.
Mr. Boyd had a 30-year career at the Government Printing Office in Washington DC. He retired on January 3rd, 1992 and moved back “home” to South Carolina where he has enjoyed a full and blessed life. Everyone who knew Mr. Boyd will attest to his wisdom, integrity and deep faith. He was a dedicated member of Tabernacle Freewill Baptist Church in Coward.
In addition to his wife, Nell Conner, he is survived by his sons, Ray (Michelle) Conner of Melbourne, FL and Ricky (Sharon) Conner of Cocoa, FL; daughters, Teresa Mims of Coward, SC and Cindy (Patrick) Edwards, of Wellington, FL; his brother Heyward (Barbara) Conner of Effingham; daughter-in-law, Pamela Miles; as well as multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
He was predeceased by his sons Randy Conner and Allen Miles; his brothers Dalmer Conner, Willard Conner, Edward Conner; his sisters Bernice Dalrymple and Bessie Mae DeBerry.
His graveside funeral service will be held on November 7th at 11:00 AM at Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 219 East Friendfield Road, Coward. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held inside Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church.
