Brantley Tyson Powell

Brantley Tyson Powell, 22, of Johnsonville, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023.

Brantley was born on November 27, 2000, in Florence County, son of Bert Powell and Melissa Cox Bazen. Brantley was a 2018 graduate of Johnsonville High School and he was looking forward to starting his new job with the Florence County Sheriff’s office later this month. He loved running dogs at Tomahawk Fox Pen and was dearly loved by his family and friends.

Surviving are his father, Bert (Kady) Powell of Georgetown; mother, Melissa Cox (Kevin) Bazen of Pamplico; siblings, Luke Powell, Will (Haley) Bazen, Evan (Taylor) Bazen, Kylee Moore and Easton Moore; maternal grandparents, Bubba and Melinda Powell of Hemingway; grandfather, Randall Cox of Johnsonville; grandmother, Karen Powell of Johnsonville; great grandmother, Kathleen Jones of Johnsonville; numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Brantley was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alroy B. Powell and great grandfather, John Carter.

A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
