Carolyn McKnight Hale, 78, wife of Earnest M. "Joe" Hale, passed away, Thursday, May 28, 2020, at MUSC Health in Florence.

Mrs. Hale was born on April 27, 1942 in Florence, daughter of the late Harvey McKnight and Aleta Coker McKnight Munn. She was a graduate of J. C. Lynch High School and was retired from Lazy Boy in Florence. Mrs. Hale was a charter member of Bible Outreach Church where she taught the adult Sunday School class for many years. Carolyn was a devoted Christian who enjoyed doing God's work.

Surviving are her husband, Earnest M. "Joe" Hale of Lake City; son, Bobby Allen McGee of Lake City; daughter, Rhonda M. (Carl) Earp of Coward; grandchildren, Tommy McGee, Michael McGee, Tanya Harper and Jonathan McGee; stepchildren, Earnest M. Hale, Jr. and Jeanna Smith Hale, both of Bristol, TN; step grandchildren, Earnest M. Hale, III and McKenzie Smith; and nine great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by her infant son; and brothers, Ronnie McKnight and Donnie McKnight.

The family would like to extend a thanks to her special friend, Gail Stone.
