Mrs. Carolyn Haselden Kelley, 89, of Lake City, SC, entered her heavenly home on July 3, 2026. Mrs. Carolyn was the wife of the late Joseph Emmitt Kelley. She was born on June 5, 1937 to the late Clem Haselden and Aysha Lanning Haselden of Johnsonville, SC. Mrs. Carolyn was employed in various retail and textile jobs throughout the years; however, she devoted the majority of her time to being a mother and a housewife. She was incredibly genuine, warm, and loving. Mrs. Carolyn never knew a stranger, and if she ever met one, he or she would not remain a stranger long. She was the true epitome of a Godly woman, and she strived to live every day by the Golden Rule. She enjoyed reading Amish romance novels, tending to her gardens and her flowers, and attending church to worship with her church family. Mrs. Carolyn also took pleasure in shopping, and she was affectionately known by her family as the original bargain hunter. Yet her greatest love was her family. The love that Mrs. Carolyn held for her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren was unparalleled.
Surviving are her children, Cindy Miles (Kenny) of Lexington; Frances Scurry (Ricky) of Lake City; Tammy Carter (Jay) of Sumter; and Glenn Kelley (Patty) of Lake City. As well as a baby brother, Harry Winston Haselden (Linda) of Johnsonville. Mrs. Carolyn leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Ann Miles; Aleshia Roberts (Travis); Tonya Bullard (Scott); Afton Hicks (Houston); Jamie Gaymon (Justin); John Carter (Rebecca); Joseph Tucker Kelley (Heather); Sarah Grace Young (T.J.); and 11 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Carolyn was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters: Alfred “Bubba” Haselden, W. Roland Haselden, Raleigh Haselden, Charles Harrell Haselden, Ervin Wood Haselden, Elliot Haselden, Ashton Estes “Love” Haselden, William Jordan “Joe” Haselden, James “Bunk” Haselden, Irene H. Venters, Ardell H. Humphries, Doris H. Hartsock, Blanchie H. Dennis, and Stacy Lean Haselden Turner.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Monday, July 6, 2026, at Carolina Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel.
A private burial will follow at Lake City Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace & Glory Ministries, PO Box 70, Coward, SC 29530 or Unity Original FWB Church, PO Box 689, Johnsonville, SC 29555
