Obituary
Mr. Carroll James Kirby, 81, of Coward, husband of Jackie Braveboy Kirby, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence.
Mr. Kirby was born on September 2, 1941, in Florence County, son of the late Willie Prescott Kirby and Emmie Geddings Kirby. He was the owner/operator and auto mechanic at Kirby’s Garage. Mr. Kirby was a loving husband, father & grandfather, and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. In his youth, he was an avid race car driver and has always enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie Braveboy Kirby of Coward; son, Steven (Christy) Kirby of Lake City; grandsons, Rhett Kirby and Dawson Kirby, both of Lake City; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by his siblings, Pansy Cantey, Bill Kirby and J.D. Kirby.
As per the wishes of Mr. Kirby, there will be no visitation or funeral.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House, 1203 E. Cheves Street, Florence, SC, 29506.
