Cathleen "Cat" Marie Byrd

Ms. Cathleen “Cat” Marie Byrd, 59, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee.

Ms. Byrd was born on October 26, 1966, in Monroe, Michigan, daughter of the late John Rimel and Elizabeth Prater Rimel. She was an animal lover and enjoyed riding motorcycles.

She is survived by her daughters, Chasity (William) Brickle and Amanda Poston; her grandchildren, Kaiden Brickle, Tierynn Brickle, Arrianna McGee, and Koltin Isgett; her sister, Jane Huff; her brothers, Richard (Gina) Rimel and William Rimel; and a special friend, Turtle.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Byrd was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Laylla Poston and Rylynn Poston; and her brother, Timothy Rimel.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Carolina Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM at The Garden of Rest Cemetery, The Bible Temple.
