Mr. Charles “Shorty” McGee, 73, of Scranton, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at MUSC Health Black River.
Mr. McGee was born on February 19, 1951, in Williamsburg County, son of the late Luther “Luke” McGee and Annie Rose Mims McGee. He delighted in the pastime of fishing, had a preference for watching westerns, held a deep affection for dogs, and he enjoyed spending quality time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Charles “Timmy” (April) McGee of Lake City, Kris McGee of Lake City, Stacey (PeeWee) Gaymon of Scranton and Tracey Jenkins of Timmonsville; grandchildren, Toby McGee, Chloe McGee, Liam (Katelyn) McGee, Jacob McGee, Montana Gaymon, Havyn Gaymon, Dylan (Brooke) Jenkins, Cambel Jenkins and Kaydee Jenkins; great grandchildren, Waylon McGee and Lukas McGee; brother, Ben McGee of Scranton; sister, Brenda Clark of Darlington; special friend and mother of his children, Shelby McGee of Lake City.
Mr. McGee was preceded in death by a grandson, T.J. McGee; brother, Clyde McGee; daughter-in-law, Amanda McGee.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Camp Branch Original FWB Church Cemetery, Scranton.
