Chesley H. Floyd, 77, husband of Wanda Dennis Floyd, passed away, Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Memorial Health Hospital, Savannah, GA, after an extended illness.
Mr. Floyd was born on July 25, 1944, in Olanta, SC, a son of the late Dannie Calhoun Floyd and Allie F. Floyd. He was a 1962 graduate of Lake City High School and a graduate of Holmes Bible College in Greenville. Mr. Floyd was a retired minister and member of the South Carolina Pentecostal Holiness Church Conference. He served as a pastor for over 40 years, pastoring a number of churches in SC, retiring from the Friendfield Pentecostal Holiness Church in 2011.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Wanda Dennis Floyd of Rincon, GA; his daughter, Kim (Danny) Walker of Rincon, GA; granddaughters, Logan Vining and Skylar "Sky" Vining, both of Rincon, GA; his siblings, Sammy (Lucille) Floyd of Olanta, Elsie F. McKenzie and Nettie F. Welch, both of Lake City, Sarah F. Collins of Coward, and Dan (Sonya) Floyd of Manning; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, July 30, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with visitation immediately following the services.
Burial will be private.
