Mrs. Daisy Felder McGrew, 90, of Olanta, wife of the late Rev. Carl Richard McGrew, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at her home.
Mrs. McGrew was born on August 11, 1935, in Calhoun County, daughter of Eddie Asbery Felder and Jannie Murphy Felder. Mrs. McGrew was a devoted and hardworking woman who spent more than 30 years serving others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She faithfully attended the Church of God of Prophecy and stood beside her husband as a pastor’s wife. Known for her caring heart, she was a wonderful caregiver who always put others before herself. Mrs. McGrew also loved gardening, especially growing vegetables, and she found great joy in sharing the fruits of her labor with family, friends, and neighbors. Her generosity, kindness, and servant’s heart will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her daughters, Betty (Jimmy) David and Carolyn Thompson; grandchildren, Jamie Porter, Gretta (Ricky) Burch and Robbie Thompson; three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. McGrew was preceded in death by her daughters, Cathy Faye McGrew and Valadean Nesmith; grandson, Elton Nesmith, and nine siblings.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to McLeod Hospice for their loving care of their mom during this time.
Per Mrs. McGrew’s request, the burial will be private.
