Dakota Shyanane Todd Collins

Miss Dakota Shyanane Todd Collins, 29, of Coward, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Dakota was born on July 23, 1996, in Florence County, daughter of Shawn Todd and Tora Collins. Dakota, a bright and beautiful soul, passed away leaving a legacy of love, laughter and strength that will never be forgotten. Dakota was truly one of a kind, outgoing, full of life and always ready with a smile that could light up any room. She had a deep love for making other happy and brought joy to everyone lucky enough to know her. She never met a stranger, she had a kind heart, making each person she met feel valued and special.

Her love for her family was at the center of everything she did. Dakota cherished every moment spent with those she loved, creating memories filled with laughter, warmth and connection that will be held close forever. She found happiness in the simple and beautiful things in life- singing songs she wrote, dancing without a care and expressing her thoughts and emotions through poetry. She had a creative spirit that allowed her to share her heart with the world in a way that was uniquely hers. Throughout her life, Dakota faced and overcome many obstacles with courage and resilience. Her strength was inspiring and even in difficult times, she continued to shine with kindness and grace. Dakota’s heart was truly as big as the world. She gave love freely, cared deeply and left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched and loved that she gave so generously. She will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.

Surviving in addition to her parents, are her children, Cayden Beard and Colin Beard; brothers, Brice Collins and Shem Collins; half-brother, Austin Todd; paternal grandfather, Jimmy Todd.

Dakota was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Vickie Collins and paternal grandmother, Mary Ann Todd.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Carolina Funeral Home, with service to follow at 3:00 PM in the chapel.

Burial will follow at Matthews Cemetery, Coward.
