Dana Gibbs Helms

Dana Gibbs Helms, 57, wife of Ricky Helms, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.

Dana was born on March 3, 1964, in Florence, South Carolina, daughter of Barbara Hicks Gibbs Brunson and the late Charles Richard Gibbs. She was a 1981 graduate of Hannah-Pamplico High School and received her surgical tech degree from Florence-Darlington Technical College. Dana was employed with LabCorp and attended The Well PPHC, Pamplico.  

Surviving are her husband, Ricky Helms of Pamplico; children, Brittany Collins and Lindsey Collins, both of Pamplico; mother, Barbara Hicks Gibbs Brunson of Pamplico; sister, Lynn Gibbs (Todd) Murphy of Pamplico; step-children, Katey (Bryan) Kirkman of Clover, Dylan Helms of Kirkland, WA and Rachel Helms of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Carter Collins, Parker McDowell and Benjamin Collins, all of Pamplico, Melody Kirkman of Clover and Princeton McGee of Charlotte, NC; niece, Rachel (fiance Amanuel Desta) Keefe of Pamplico; nephews, James Murphy and Joshua Murphy, both of Pamplico; special friends, Gwen (David Ray) Bazen of Pamplico, Sheila (Dave) Worten of Myrtle Beach, Paula (Timmy) Burroughs of Florence and Wanda (Maxie) Dukes of Turbeville.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 -3:00 PM, Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Hwy 378 Bypass, Scranton, SC 29591.
