Dana Spring Bethea, 56, wife of Alfred W. “Buddy” Bethea, Jr., passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
Dana was born on September 19, 1968, in Sumter, daughter of George Dewey Spring and Mitzi Floyd Spring. She was a cosmetologist for over 25 years and was one of the original owners of Spa De Vie. Dana always enjoyed being able to attend her home church, Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was always full of life, enjoyed making others laugh, very thoughtful and loved to surprise her two sons. Dana was an extreme sports enthusiast and especially loved watching her son play Citadel baseball. She was a big shopper and had an outfit for every occasion.
Surviving are her husband, Alfred W. “Buddy” Bethea, Jr.; sons, Haeden Stevens and George Derrick Floyd; parents, George and Mitzi Spring; sister, Sheri (Billy) Sims; step-daughter, Martha (Hunter) Thompson; sisters-in-law, Kitty Catherine Bethea, Shannon Bethea (Dr. Nigel) Watt, Dr. Lisa Bethea (Mark) Desser, Dr. Cammie Bethea (Dr. Billy) Mills; brother-in-law, Fitzhugh (Sarita) Bethea; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Dana was preceded in death by her brother, Derrick Spring; sister, Vicki Lyn Spring.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church.
