Mr. Daniel Edward Parker, 77, of Coward, husband of Linnie Mae Miles Parker, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence.
Mr. Parker was born on July 15, 1948, in Florence County, son of the late David Parker and Lero Maxine Evans Parker. Mr. Parker was a member of Gilead Free Will Baptist Church and a man whose life reflected his strong faith and devotion to prayer. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, carrying the values of honor, loyalty, and dedication with him throughout his life. He was a skilled mechanic by trade, hardworking and dependable, but his greatest calling was the way he loved and cared for his wife. With a tender heart, he devoted himself to meeting her every need, always putting her first.
He was known as a character—full of humor, quick with a joke, and always able to lighten the mood. Though he enjoyed making others laugh, he also had a deep sincerity about him and a strong belief in the power of prayer.
A true homebody, Mr. Parker was happiest in the comfort of his home and the simple pleasures of life. He loved casting a line in the water to fish, spending hours outdoors, and taking pride in keeping his yard neat as he cut the grass. These quiet joys brought him peace and contentment.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Linnie M. Parker of Coward, are their son, Rosco (Sheila) Parker of Johnsonville; grandchildren, Scotty (Orlando) Pope, Rhonda Pope (Brandon) Huggins, and Carolyn Connell; cousin, Dorothy (James) Morris of Coward; family friend, Jennifer Matthews of Coward; and two nieces and nephews.
Mr. Parker was preceded in death by two brothers, David Johnny Parker and Jimmy Parker.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Old Piney Grove Cemetery, Lake City. Family will receive friends following the service.
