Mr. Daniel David Shissler, 91, of Lake City, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Shissler was born on November 5, 1933, in Pennsylvania, son of the late James Shissler and Edna Reigel Shissler. Mr. Shissler attended and helped build Abbott Loop Christian Center, Alaska. He was employed with Safeway as a retail clerk for 38 years. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and cherished spending time with his family. A true animal lover, he adored his dogs—Clipper, Blazer, Lady, and Dorla. Mr. Shissler was known for his big heart and friendly nature. He never met a stranger and could light up any room with his humor and storytelling. He was a people person, a jokester, and enjoyed reading every day. His kind spirit and joyful presence made him the life of the room wherever he went.
Surviving are his children, Debra Hill Shissler of Lake City and Jennifer (Eric) Jones of Alaska; grandchildren, Rosalie (Jeff) Delwarte, Rhonda (Chuck) Rimer, Tonya (Timmy) Morningstar, Tamaran Howell, and Jerry (Susan) Howell; great grandchildren, Samantha (Manny) Klein, Demi (Shawn) Daughtery, Elizabeth Glacken, Lexi Howell, Jacob Delwark, and Steven Wilde; great great grandchildren, Eugene Causley, Teresa Klein, Rhette Daughtery, Willow Daughtery and Mable Daughtery; sister, Rebecca Shissler; brother, John (Sandy) Shissler.
Mr. Shissler was preceded in death by siblings, Dorothy Shissler, James Shissler, LeRoy Shissler, Edward Shissler, and William Shissler.
A Celebration of Life and Family Gathering will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 9, 2025, Carolina Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private.
