Mr. Harvey “Dankey” Culick, 79, husband of Virginia Byrd Culick, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Culick was born on October 2, 1946, in Williamsburg County, son of the late Albert Culick and Ninea Floyd Culick. Mr. Culick was a member of Floyd Chapel, where he faithfully served as a deacon for more than twenty years. A devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated farmer, he lived a life rooted in faith, family, and the land he cared for. He loved good, home-cooked southern meals, and was known for his lighthearted joking and easy sense of humor. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, tending to his many fruit trees, and working in his garden. A true homebody, he found peace and purpose close to home, surrounded by the people and place he loved most. Above all, he loved the Lord, and could always be found sitting on the front pew at church, worshiping with a sincere and faithful heart.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia B. Culick of Lake City; children, Shannon (Chuck) Shady and Joey (Trina) Culick, both of Lake City; grandchildren, Dustin (Britney) Shady, Ashton (Kelly) Culick, Daniel (Kacey) Culick, Steven (Alyssa) Stone, Devon Culick, Bootsie Culick, Zoey Culick, and Eli Culick; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette (Leon) Mims of Cades, Karen (Mark) Scott of Manning, Lois Culick of Cades and Mae Dean McKenzie of Kingstree.
Mr. Culick was preceded in death by children, Wendy Culick, Meninea Culick, Kevin Culick and Danny Culick; granddaughter, Laci Shady, brother, O’Neal Culick; sister, Annie Lee Hickman.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Floyd Chapel, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends after the burial in the church fellowship hall.
