David Levern Evans

Mr. David Levern Evans, 57, of New Zion, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House.

Mr. Evans was born on December 24, 1967, in Clarendon County, son of the late Horace Levern Evans and Jean Morris Evans.  Mr. Evans was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Kingstree. He was the proud owner and operator of Evans Roofing, where he built a reputation for hard work and integrity. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, finding peace and joy in the outdoors.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Hickman Evans; step-children, Kevin Leavern (Kim) Hickman, Brandon (Amber) Love and Destiny (Michael) Kinard; grandson, Gage Lee Hickman; half-sisters, Peggy McCutcheon, Barbara Garrick, Dottie Goins and Ginger Mouzon.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Evans and a half-brother, John “Buzzy” Disher.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 23, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
