Debbie (Cooper) Johnson

Mrs. Debbie Cooper Johnson, 69, of Effingham, wife of Ernest “Ernie” Johnson, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at her residence.

Mrs. Johnson was born on October 12, 1955, in Florence County, daughter of the late Samuel Lloyd Cooper and Wildred Calcutt Cooper. She was a member of Peace Free Will Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who adored her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 52 years, are their children, Angel (Bill) Lingerman of Florence; grandchildren, Christin (Jose) Hernandez, Nicholas (Bethany) Lingerman and Zachary Lingerman; great grandchildren, Noah Hernandez, Natalie Hernandez and Mateo Hernandez; brother, Ricky (Diane) Cooper of Dillon.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Cooper.

Graveside services will be 4:00 PM, Thursday, April 17, 2025, at New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
