Diane Carpenter

Diane Carpenter, 71, died Friday, January 24, 2020, at her residence.

Ms. Carpenter was born on January 24, 1949 in Fayetteville, NC, daughter of the late James Dawson Carpenter and Ruby Ann Feagin Carpenter.  She attended Word of Life Church, Johnsonville.

Surviving are her children, Teresa Powell, Rickey Rhames and Lisa (James) Parsons; grandchildren, Jesse (Danielle Bryant) Rhames, Katie (Trey) Chandler, Justin Powell, Daniel (Joselyn) Franks, Derek Harrington and Teri Bryant; great-grandchildren; Chip, Zachary, Landon, Dylan, Jordyn, Skyler and one on the way; great great-grandchild, Greylynn and one on the way; sisters, Annie Joye and Kathleen Carpenter; father of the children, James "Sack" Rhames; and a nephew who was like a son, Jimmy (Leslie) Aikens.

Ms. Carpenter was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimbo" Carpenter and a sister, Judy Powell.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, January 27, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery, Johnsonville.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Monday, January 27, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
