Mrs. Diane Anderson Gause, 81, wife of Frank Gause, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, at her home in Lexington, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Gause was born on June 27, 1943, in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late Lamar Anderson and Vivian Coward Anderson. Mrs. Gause was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC, where she worshiped for 28 years. A proud graduate of Winthrop College, she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and dedicated 45 years to teaching high school, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students and teachers.
She was the loving wife and best friend of her husband, Frank Gause, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was built on a foundation of deep love, mutual respect, and unwavering support. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and strong family values. Mrs. Gause was a devoted mother and grandmother, a cherished sister, aunt, and a loyal friend to many. She embraced life fully and found joy in both everyday moments and special adventures. She especially loved beach trips, enjoyed going on cruises with Frank, and had a deep appreciation for flowers, which always brought her happiness.
Surviving in addition to her husband Frank Gause of Lexington are their children, Bryan (Hadyn) Gause and Kevin (Elizabeth) Gause, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Jennifer Gause, Madison Gause, Hailey Gause, Brandon Gause, Kylie Gause and Samantha Gause; sister, Sylvia A. Lee of Florence; brother, Warren Anderson of Coward; along with one niece and three nephews.
A committal service will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, June 30, 2025, at St. Paul Church of Coward, 159 E. St. Paul Road, Coward, SC 29530, with visitation to follow in the church fellowship hall.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church, 1324 Marion St, Columbia, SC 29201, with visitation to follow in Jackson Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
