Donald E. Langston

Mr. Donald E. Langston, 79, of Scranton, husband of Kaye S. Langston, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, at MUSC Health Florence.

Mr. Langston was born on August 7, 1944 in Florence County, son of the late Freddie James “Doc” Langston and Louise Oliver Langston. He was a member of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, served in South Carolina National Guard and retired as a construction manager for Martek. Mr. Langston was a loving husband, daddy, grandaddy and brother. He was a Christian man who loved the Lord, going to church, was a jack of all trades, and a dedicated family man.

Surviving are his wife, Kaye Smith Langston of Scranton; sons, Donald E. Langston, Jr. of Garner, NC and Cory J. (Whitney) Langston of Effingham; daughter, Ashley Langston (Kyle) Floyd of Kingstree; grandchildren, Addison E. Langston, Clara Langston, Everett “Rhett” Langston, Colby Floyd and Kade Floyd; sister, Janice Beard; special nephew, Ray Phelps; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Mr. Langston was preceded in death by a sister, Jean L. Burgess; niece, Beth P. Rogers; nephew, Kyle Beard.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at the church cemetery.
